EXCURSIONS AND EDUCATIONAL TRIPS
Educational and recreational excursions are organized by the school. This year the entire school was taken to Ranthambore National Tiger Sanctuary on 14 November 2014. Visits to museums zoos parks are also conducted. Toy train rides, nature walks, visit to temples etc are also part of the environmental education.
Every year during the Republic and Independence Day Parades at Ummed Stadium , District Headquarters, the school is represented by a contingent of students who display an exemplary march past and give salute to the Indian National Flag and the visiting dignitary. This accomplishment has received rave reviews both by the District Collectorate and the media.
The school has encouraged active participation in Scout activities. The school has a sizeable Scouts team and this year the Juniors were introduced as Cubs into Bharat Scouts and Guides. During the various camps held in and around Kota the children as Scouts learn discipline, loyalty, learning by doing, leadership, team spirit and other aspects of personality and character development.
The Scouts specialize in Pyramid formation and have not only participated but won accolades at Scouts National Jamborees since 2003 onwards. They have won the Governor’s Award 2011 for the Visually Disabled, District Scouts Rally for the blind 2002-03 etc.
DANCE, MUSIC AND DRAMA
The school is a hub of cultural activity. At festivals like Raksha bandhan the Hearing Impaired Girls dance to the music and singing by the visually disabled. Dancing too comes naturally.
Drama is an unique form of expression which the hearing impaired need no learning, so they perform spontaneously. Workshops are conducted throughout the year and children perform at programmes like Annual Day, Teacher’s day, Farewell of Class X and whenever the opportunity arises.
Gardening and other outdoor activities. The students of the school maintain the greenery of the school and help in keeping the environment clean too. In 200 the school started its very own Braille Nursery maintained by the visually handicapped, and one of the only 3 of its kind in India.
Sports is very important for the overall educational and social experience of a child. Many lessons about teamwork, responsibility, winning and losing happen in “after school“ activities in school. Participation in Sporting activities also helps develop motor skills as well as help in the release of stress.
Athletics is pursued both by the visually and hearing impaired participating in almost all athletic competitions at District, State and National levels. Athletics include Track and field as well as long jumps and Shot put. In 2015 the school sent a team of athletes for the first time to Mumbai to participate in Silent Olympics and they came back with 2 golds 2 silvers and 1 bronze. The visually impaired too have done wonders in the track and field.
Cricket, the school boasts of a Cricket team. The team plays matches with Public and private schools and also matches organized by various Social clubs like Rotary and JCs, often winning in most of them. The visually disabled too play cricket and have represented the school at the State and District levels.
Volleyball, is another favourite with the children, both with the juniors and the seniors. Other games played are Badminton and Table tennis
The school is recognized by the Education Department, Govt of Rajasthan and is affiliated to RBSE Ajmer, upto Class X for the hearing impaired and visually disabled children.
BBVK imparts Vocational Training for children who are amongst the most disadvantaged in our society have the opportunity to lead successful, productive and happy lives.
It is very important for the overall educational and social experience of a child. BBVK organize Sports & Scouting Events, Dance-Music-Drama Programs, Educational Trips regularly.
Medical Checkup Camps
We firmly believe that health care are the fundamental right of every child and no child should be deprived of these basic right. BBVK regularly organize health check up camps for children.
